OK so it has been quite a while since I've updated this site. Sorry about that, but I've been busy at other pursuits - like my full-time job! I'll be posting a new version of my Navigator add-in soon so stay tuned. And keep those cards and letters coming!

Standards Mean Opportunity
Microsoft has gone to great lengths to make the Expression Studio suite of products conform to the latest internationally accepted standards for software applications and tools in the classes represented by Expression Studio. Expression Web for example, is all about using HTML to structure information on a web page, while using CSS to style the presentation of the information in a visually pleasing way.
By supporting and adhering to standards, Microsoft has leveled the playing field for web site designers and developers everywhere. Now anyone who wants to create a web site can create one that is fully compliant with applicable standards and is likely to stay that way.
Opportunity Presents Challenges
- For those that have come to rely on the proprietary features and capabilities of an earlier product, adapting to the new "standards-based" ways of doing things can be challenging.
- In some cases, there may be no equivalent standard for a proprietary feature of the old application.

Adapting to changes in the things we have come to rely on can be difficult. Things that were once easy seem more difficult or impossible. However, we often find that losing something familiar spurs us to look at things in new ways. When we do, we can begin to envision even grander things than we ever did before.
